Our team was invited to bring a new visual identity and social media strategy to the time-honoured Hong Kong brand Pat Chun, which has specialised in making sauces for decades.

Client: Pat Chun
Production House: Capsule48
Services: Full Production

Our creative team sought to make a more intimate, nostalgic brand video for the Pat Chun, and created a camaign video, social content recipe video, and set of images to reflect this new identity.

Our subject, Trevor, is the current CEO and grandson of the founder of Pat Chun. He already had a powerful story in mind when he approached us to create this video: the concept was to highlight the duality of Pat Chun vinegar, both sweet and sour, and to draw a parallel to the duality of growing older as we reflect on the past and look forward to the future. This video showcases the real life experiences that Trevor was undergoing at the time, and is written from the his perspective as an anticipating new father, and also as an adoring son.

The video production of the brand video took two days of shooting, and was shot in Trevor’s real place of work and home.

Pat Chun’s sweet and sour vinegar is used, just as it has been for the last 80 years, to celebrate the birth of new life, and holds a special place in the hearts of Hong Kongers.
